Triumph Owners Called In to Break World Record

Own a Triumph motorcycle and feel like breaking a World Record? You can give it a shot this fall in Nottinghamshire alongside other riders, as a local dealership will try to gather as many Triumph bikes as possible and go for a short ride.

Staffordshire Triumph dealership offers owners a chance to be part of an official world record attempt, with staff from Guiness World Records being present to document and register the success.

All Triumph owners that show up will take part in an attempt to break the world record for the ‘Most Triumph Motorcycles in a Parade’. Prior to the event, interested riders should pre-register on the event’s official web page so they can receive more information about very strict rules provided by Guiness World Records.

It’s not the first time attempting such a stunt, as last year there were 362 Triumph motorcycles in one big ride taking place in the same location as this year’s. The event was organised by Bob Sheldon, of Staffordshire Triumph, and Kev Wilcox, organiser of the Staffordshire Bike Show.

Earlier on this year, John Adkins tried to create a similar event in Australia to break the 2015 record, but, unfortunately, not enough Triumph riders took part in it.

“We’re hoping to gather even more Triumph riders together and make history,” commented Adkins after the event.

This year’s record breaking attempt will be held again in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, UK, on Sunday 4th September 2016. The event will start at around 11 a.m. and all bikers involved have to be registered and signed in by 10.45 a.m.

Next, they’ll line up and go for a 2-mile (3.2 km) town ride which will probably last around 20 minutes. And since a lot of riders are expected at the event, the organizers also thought to raise some funds for Jessica Simpkin Children Brain Tumor Research Center. This translates into a £5 (€6/$6.5) fee per rider in order to enter the show.
