Travis Pastrana is the real life modern day daredevil. He enjoys going fast on two wheels as well as four, however one wheel or three wheels don’t seem to phase him either. He was recently chosen as the driver of the Dodge Dart rally car for a recent promotional video shoot.
He did exactly what you’d expect him to have done - drove the car like he stole it around a twisty gravel and mud course, until its rear bumper was just being dragged behind the car. However, he was very meticulous in how he prepared for the actual scenes, checking the course, measuring the depth of a puddle (at various points to make sure it didn’t hid any surprises). All this, for a 2:44 second video full of slow motion footage with lots of sideways action.
The finished product came out very Ken Block-esque, and it really puts the 600 hp Dart rally car in excellent light - the road version of the Dart does need such promotional material to kick start its sales and have people associating it with the rally car. It worked quite well for the Fiesta!
