It's been a while since we started bringing you more or less exciting news from the set of the third movie in the Transformers franchise and, as all of you know, aside for a few stills captured by a guy or two, we had no video of what Michael Bay was actually up to.
Until now, that is, as the first teaser trailer for the movie, which will be released on July 1, 2011, hit the web. And what a site for sorrow eyes it is.
Promising to be one the most exciting of the series, the Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie will bring tons of new cars, breath-taking transformations and, unfortunately for the male audience, no Megan Fox (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, her replacement, should however fit nicely with the oversized robots).
As the so far limited synopsis of the movie states, this new film deepens the ties the Transformers have with our planet and its history. Bay will take us into the dark corners of the USSR-US cold war, where apparently a hidden Transformer lurked and directed the space race between the two superpowers.
The Transformer is found on the Moon, as it was revealed in this teaser, during the Apollo 11 mission, the first one to have reached the surface of the satellite with humans on board. Kept a secret for 40 years, the Transformer will have a heavy say in how the cold war played out.
The trailer-long teaser can be viewed below and at the following link.
