If you're tired of seeing design studies of cars that will never make it into production, then this thing here might get your mind off things: the TrakRok Concept. A hybrid of an ATV that got into an affair with a snowmobile and ended up being the ultimate off roader.

Built with a set of wheels at the front and a mean looking track at the back, the TrakRok is supposed to be able to take on all type of on-road and off-road surfaces, starting with snow and ending with mud. Add to that the fact that the model is electrically powered (yes, the plague reached these realms as well), and you have a vehicle that likes to get dirty, but doesn't like to leave a nasty hole in the ozone.

The model has been designed by Alexei Mikhailov, an industrial designer from Humber College in Canada. He envisioned the ride as being propelled by two electric motors driving the front wheels and another one powering the rear track.

The motors draw their power from a fuel cell system, which is housed in the center portion of the vehicle, for increased stability. Because of this, the applications of this little toy are limitless, ranging from military ops to leisure activities.

“The overall design mimics a shell-like rib cage with hollowed out pattern sections, resulting into a lightweight assembly construction,” said the designer according to CarBodyDesign. "The TrakRok vehicle falls under a trike category unlike the conventional quad, the trike setup enables to have two wheels in the front direct driven individually by electric motors."
