Supercar drivers tend to avoid train accidents simply because they care more about their rides than average owners, which means that we rarely have to go through the pain of seeing one of these machines torn apart by a locomotive.
Alas, we are currently dealing with one of those nasty exceptions and it all has to do with a McLaren MP4-12C in the US. The British supercar was wrecked by a train in Orange Park, California on Friday morning.

The McLaren itself was not on the train tracks when the crash happened, but rather inside a trailer that was taking the supercar to the delaer for maintenance.

The driver, a 40-year old man, told the Florida Highway Patrol the trailer stalled right on the tracks, explaining he jumped outside and saved himself moments before the train plowed through his vehicle.

The accident happened on Doctor's Lake Drive at Greenridge road and fortunately nobody was injured in the violent process. The MP4-12C belonged to Dr. Jorg Bober, who couldn't believe his ears when he was informed that his McLaren, which had been taken by the dealer for warranty operations, had been totaled.

As you can see in the adjacent images, which come from , the British supercar went through quite an ordeal.

As for the company whose driver was supposed to bring the Mac in, we can only conclude it's a small world we're living in. We are talking about Dimmit Automotive, an exotic and luxury dealer whose McLaren dealership we mentioned earlier this week.

We wrote about Dimmit's 2nd rally, which saw the Tampa Bay company invite customers and fans to 50 miles of... crazy cruising. Over 40 go-fast models went way past the speed limit during the event, as it always happens during road rallies. In fact, you can see their adventure here, in a Mario Kart supercar rally show.
