Here’s your feel-good video for the day: if you’re into fuzzy, adorable but not very affectionate little critters, this ridiculously long line of ducks crossing the road in Maine may just be your thing.
One driver from Biddeford, Maine, Karen Ramunno captured the video while she was herself in traffic. She posted it to Facebook, where it spread like wild fire for two very obvious reasons: number one, it features a lot of adorable ducks and number two, it shows that not all motorists are impatient, heartless douches who abuse their horns.
In fact, all the drivers seen in the video, which is also available at the bottom of the page, patiently wait for all the ducks to get safely on the other side of the road before going on their way. And, while they wait, they do so without honking, which in itself is amazing considering that you can see traffic backing up all the way to the intersection.
“Proof that there are more good people in this world than bad! Not one person in the 2 lines of traffic were beeping or impatient with these guys! Even the last 2 stragglers,” Ramunno writes on Facebook.
Indeed, the drivers patiently wait for all the ducks to cross over: the first row, and then the second, and then the 2 dawdlers that seem somewhat undecided as to whether they want to be on this side of the road, all on their own, or on the other, where their entire family has gone. In the end, they opt for the latter and they casually, oh-so-slowly start their own journey across the road.
Once all the ducks are on the other side of the road, traffic resumes. And, we assume, so does the honking but that’s besides the point because, for one brief moment, there was no shouting, no honking, no aggressiveness and no road rage altercations. Just fuzzy, adorable, waddling ducks.
