You don’t mess with a man’s love for expensive, fabulous cars, especially if that man is Tracy Morgan and he can afford getting an entire fleet of them. Shortly after a small fender bender heard around the world, the comedian is back at the wheel of another expensive car.
This time, though, it’s considerably cheaper than the $2 million Bugatti Veyron that got banged up at an intersection in New York City. At $500,000, it’s more than what regular Joes and Janes can afford, but for a man of Morgan’s caliber, it’s almost a trifle.
Page Six reports that the actor was seen driving around in a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. There are no photos or videos of the sighting, but the witness swears the actor was behind the wheel – and that he was blasting Michael Jackson’s “Liberian Girl.”
A Page Six spy spotted the “Last O.G.” star driving alone on 14th Street in a convertible Rolls-Royce while blasting Michael Jackson’s “Liberian Girl.”
‘The car was a Phantom Drophead Coupe convertible with limited-edition yacht-inspired wooden ‘deck.’ And compared to the Bugatti Veyron – which Morgan crashed in Midtown in June, minutes after driving it out of the dealership – it’s worth a trifling $500,000,” the publication writes.
Apparently, Morgan went through Union Square but still stopped to talk to some fans who flagged him down. This should earn him extra points for staying grounded despite all the money and fame.
According to the spy, it wasn’t shocking to see Morgan back at the wheel of an expensive car, but rather to hear him blasting Jackson’s music. This year alone, with the release of an HBO documentary, the singer’s reputation took another hit as older allegations resurfaced.
“I was mostly surprised to hear somebody blasting an MJ deep cut in this day and age,” the spy tells the same media outlet.
That aside, Morgan had the $2 million Bugatti repaired and was even able to take it back out. He must have been dying to do so, since he’d only been off the dealership lot for about 15 minutes when he was side-swiped by a Honda CR-V that didn’t have the right of way.
Morgan has yet to address the “fender bender” in any shape or form, but reports online claim that the damage to the Veyron set him back about $200,000.
