Here’s one good reason you should save your aggressive riding for track days - it’s a controlled environment, and if you make a mistake, there are chances you won’t wreck yourself and the bike. In fact, both of you could end a bad scenario without a single scratch, like this rider in the clip here.
Cornering hard on public roads with the knee down and all equals to an increase of you crashing badly if something goes wrong. And boy there are so many things that could go wrong, from sand, potholes, gravel or mud to animals on the road or a large incoming truck passing into your lane in a bend because the driver is checking a message on the phone.

Miscalculating the right line to take a corner or simply getting into point fixation are also dangerous and most times end up in going off-road where you can hit a tree, guardrail or simply spill in a bad way.

On the other hand, a track usually offers ways to stop you from hitting something through sand traps or simply by giving you enough space to simply coming to a stop or slide until you shave off all your speed.

It surely helped this fellow here during his track day, and his run-off ended way better than expected thanks to all the open space. At one point he misjudges his corner entry and soon discovers himself running wide...

With nothing else to do, he decides to quickly stand the bike up and go off track. Speed and grass made the motorcycle brutally skid sideways, but the rider managed to counter steer it and come to a safe stop.

It doesn’t look like much from the rider’s perspective, but the second part of the video shows all the action from a camera mounted to the side of the bike, so you can clearly see how much the rear end went out and the rider desperately trying to keep it under control.
