Takeshi Uchiyamada, also known as the father of the Prius, will replace Fujio Cho this week, becoming Toyota’s next chairman after the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting.
Mr. Takeshi has been informing people that the company’s next sports car will share the old Toyota Supra’s specs, so that it will not overlap with the current GT 86, but that will depend on the engineers to find the perfect ratio between size and power.

"That's what I want but it's not me who makes the decision," said Uchiyamada. “It’s futile if we make something similar” to the 86.

Earlier this year, Toyota and BMW announced that they will produce a mid-sized sports car, resulting from a bigger collaboration between the two automakers. The new Supra, if the new sports car will bear the name, should be quite an epic vehicle, considering Toyota’s reliability and BMW’s performance.
