The “go fun yourself” spirit is slowly shifting up to other Toyota models in the range, as the Yaris, or Vitz, is set to come with significant changes this summer. Kinda like the Toyota Aygo already received...
Toyota is currently teasing us with some photos and a video, showing the Yaris and Vitz both coming with redesigned front fascias, rear bumpers, headlights, wheels and even interior modifications.
The Yaris gets an Aygo-style face, combining a big lower trapezoidal grille with the upper V-shaped grille creating the big X, while the Asian Vitz is still separating the two shapes as before, but its lines are now sharper and slightly redrawn.
At the rear it comes with restyled LED light clusters and a new diffuser integrated in the bumper as well as a reshaped license plate surround.
While the interior changes haven’t been released yet the automaker tells it improved three principal areas: “a greater feeling of roominess and dynamic appeal; higher levels of perceived quality; and more choice in terms of colors and equipment.”
Underside this new shell, you’ll find more sound proofing materials as well as a revised suspension to improve both comfort and handling. Engine choice will remain the same 1- and 1.33-liter gasoline along with the 1.4-liter D-4D diesel and the hybrid powertrain. However, the 1-liter unit will be replaced with the thermal efficiency-improved version that the automaker revealed recently.
Looking at the revealed pictures, the Vitz will be available in exterior colors and four interior combinations. A restyled performance Vitz GRMN will also be offered.
Toyota will return soon with proper specifications and pricing, so keep the browsers pointed towards us. Until then, check out the video and photos bellow.
