Yesterday, PT Toyota Astra Motor officially put the new Toyota Yaris on sale in Indonesia, but don’t let the name fool you though as this isn’t the European model. In fact, it’s basically a hatch version of Vios sedan.
Powering the new Yaris is a 1.5-liter 1ZN-FE engine (also from the Vios) with VVT-i, making 109 hp and 141 Nm of torque. The unit can be had with either a manual five-speed or a conventional four-speed automatic gearbox, power being transmitted to the front wheels.
Indonesians will be able to get the Yaris in three trim levels: E, G and TRD Sportivo. The basic E comes at RM63,438 (Rp 219 juta) and includes standard features like dual airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist and a touchscreen unit with DVD, MP3, WMA, AUX, USB and Bluetooth capabilities.
Top of the range TRD Sportivo pushes the price up to RM74,128 (Rp 256 juta) which comes with sporty aesthetic enhancements, auto air conditioning, keyless entry with push start button and projector headlamps.
Color wise, the Indonesian Toyota Yaris will be available in Super White, Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Red Mica Metallic, Orange Metallic and Frozen Blue Metallic.
