Thanks to the Internet and in-car technology, you can now choose to not stick around with standard radio that may cast songs you don’t like and have to change to another station, play a CD or plug in a storage device. The thing is called Internet radio streaming and one of the most popular apps for that is AUPEO!, which will be available on the new Toyota Yaris.
Toyota’s new Yaris model will be the first car in its lineup to receive the app, but only if you get it with the Touch 2 with Go multimedia package that supports it.

With the AUPEO! downloaded and installed, users will be able to tune into their personal radio station that will feed music based on their own taste, or select genre stations that focus on particular music types.

The app also comes with a neat mood tuner that provides tracks more suitable for when you want to be zen in the lazy afternoon traffic or when you want to crush everyone with a tank at rush hour for example.

The service will be available starting this October in the UK, probably following to spread to other countries. In fact, the app has been established in Berlin in 2008 and is available for other automakers in over 60 countries.

In the first month of activation, the AUPEO! Premium Service will be free, after which it will be automatically downgraded to the Basic Free Service that still gives unlimited music from selected stations but they are backed up by audio adverts.

The Premium Music Service will come at £4.25 (€4.99)/month and will take out the ads while also letting you skip unwanted tracks 50 times per day. The Signature Service will cost £8.5 (€9.99) per month allowing for 100 skips per day, access to internet radio stations and high quality sound.
