Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMPC) has recently announced new August sales records for the Vios compact sedan model.
According to Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Toyota’s local subsidiary TMPC reported 2,125 Vios units sold in August this year, breaking the record of 1,760 from December 2012.
Total August sales registered 5,972 units, representing 27.2 percent more than last year’s same period, while total sales throughout the year so far reached 46,773 units - 16.5 percent more from last year. The automaker is confident for the rest of the year and TMPC president Michinobu Sugata forecasts about 75,000 units sold until the end of the year.
The new Toyota Vios sedan was launched in the Philippines in July, with prices starting at RM73,200 for the 1.5 J model and ending at RM93,200 for the 1.5 TRD Sportivo version.
