Toyota released the UK prices for the third-generation Verso that is projected to go on sale this week. The cheapest model will cost 16,750 pounds ($24,448) - the entry-level version 1.8-liter T2 - and goes as high as 20,675 pounds ($30,177) - the top 2.0-liter D-4D T Sprint edition. There wil be only two engine configurations, as the whole range will rely on these two units: a 1.8-liter gasoline option developing 145 horsepower and a 2.0-liter D-4D diesel version that generates 126 horsepower.
A 2.2-liter D-CAT diesel configuration producing 150 horsepower is expected to join the new Verso lineup later this year, Carscoop wrote today. All these engines will be mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a Multidrive S unit (which is actually Toyota's very own CVT gearbox).
There will be several trim levels available, starting with the aforementioned T2 option and ending with the T Spirit.
More specifically, the T2 consists of five airbags, air conditioning, electrically-adjustable exterior mirrors, electric front windows, four-speaker audio system with separate controls mounted on the steering wheel and Easy Flat-7 folding rear seats, all of them offered as standard.
The higher-level TR brings in addition to the features included in the T2 package Bluetooth support, driver and front passenger side airbags, electric rear windows, foglights, 16-inch alloy wheels plus leather steering wheel and gear stick.
The top version, the T Spirit, comes with all the aforementioned features but also adds automatic climate control, automatic windscreen wipers and headlights, cruise control, 17-inch alloy wheels and Toyota's Smart Entry and Start.
