At the end of last year, Toyota confirmed that it will continue to race in the next World Endurance Championship with two TS040 Hybrid LMP1 cars using the same drivers as in the last season. Now it also confirms that the new racecar will be revealed in March.
The two Toyota teams, consisting of Alex Wurz, Nicolas Lapierre, Kazuki Nakajima, Sebastien Buemi, Stephane Sarrazin and Anthony Davidson, will benefit of upgraded TS040 Hybrid racecars based on the previous generation used in 2013. Apart from a more aerodynamic body, the cars will be powered by a development of the TS030’s V8 engine and two electric motors.
The new endurance racing prototype is set to be revealed on 27th March this year, the day before the start of the FIA WEC’s official two-day pre-season test at Le Mans.
