Toyota UK is getting into the giving Christmas spirit by offering fans the Toyota Supra Wrapping Paper, in limited edition.
All funds raised by selling the rolls of wrapping paper will go the Crisis at Christmas program from the Crisis UK non-profit, the national charity for homeless people. To promote the initiative, the carmaker even released a video on how to properly wrap a race car using the paper. Hint: it’s not rocket science.
Now, most people would probably deem wrapping paper looking like this too non-Christmassy, if not downright ugly. They’re not the target audience for it, as you probably guessed: Toyota GB wants you to think of your petrolhead friend when you wrap his or her present. And what better way to do it than by using paper that features the camouflage body wrap design from the Supra prototype?
“The paper, produced in a limited run of just 500 rolls, has the same camouflage body wrap design that has adorned the Supra prototype since its first appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the summer,” Toyota GB says. “The dazzle pattern features the red, white and black colors of Toyota Gazoo Racing and a subtle ‘A90’ reference that enthusiasts will recognize as the new car’s chassis code.”
There’s nothing “subtle” about the reference, but we’ll let that slide. After all, this is for a good cause. That in mind, know that the wrapping paper is only available to those with a residence in the UK and will set them back £5 for 4 sheets of paper.
Buyers can get their hands on the limited-edition wrapping paper via CrowdFunder, but they’re also encouraged to donate more money for the charity, if so inclined. Toyota is hoping to raise a minimum of £2,250 with this initiative.
The 2020 Toyota Supra will be revealed at the 2019 North American Auto Show in Detroit, in January.
