If you’re going to organize an auto show in America, you better bring them monster trucks too. You simply can’t gather hundreds of car enthusiasts in one place without showing them wheels the size of a man, sitting underneath an already big truck like the Tundra, all built around a supercharged powerhouse.
We mentioned the Toyota Tundra above because so far it’s the only one to come in a monster truck shape at SEMA this year. In fact, there are two versions, each with different names and themes. They might not be as good as competition monster trucks, but they look awesome and come with their own story.

The first one is called the Hiring Our Heroes Monster Truck and was created by Steve Zion along with a team of mechanics over at Toyota of Wallingford.

It comes with a modified chassis to accommodate four-link suspension, nitrogen shock absorbers, customized sheet metal body, a quick-ratio electrohydraulic rear steering and a TRD supercharger that bumps up the 5.7-liter V8’s power to 580 hp.

The truck, which made its first appearance at the 2014 Daytona 500, raises awareness for the Hiring Our Heroes Personal Branding Initiative, a program that aims to address the issues of veteran unemployment.

Emergency responders tribute

Next in line is the Tonka Tundra, a monster truck that’s dedicated to a group of people who put their lives on the line every day for the greater good. It uses a bright red, yellow and black livery to attract attention along with LED light bars and stylized “Emergency Rescue” logos.

The mods don’t stop here, as the Tonka Tundra comes with automatic side steps, a 10-inch lift suspension, pocket-style fender flares, a bed slide, different bumpers, a JL audio system, a Katzkin custom interior as well as a TRD supercharger, exhaust, brake kit and filters.

There can’t be any other forms of marketing better than themed monster trucks jumping over cars and buses.
