The Toyota Motor Sales transportation team, known as Toyota Logistics Services (TLS) is moving about 2.2 million new Toyota and Lexus vehicles to dealerships every year and this week EPA recognized it for making its hauls as efficient as possible.
TLS raceived the Excellence Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency’s flagship program, called the SmartWay Transport, designed to improve fuel efficiency and reducing greenhouse gases.
“Toyota is constantly improving its environmental efforts in partnership with the transportation industry,” said Brian Mason, national strategic planning manager for Toyota Logistics Service, Inc. “We are honored to be recognized for our commitment.”
Since 2004, the 3,073 SmartWay partners across the US have saved about $8.1 billion in fuel costs and 65 million barrels of oil.
