Toyota to Recover Sooner Than Expected from Earthquake Effects

The Japanese manufacturer has recovered earlier than expected and now plans to begin normal routine by October 1st.Toyota has shortened its list of possible risk parts to 30 from more that 1,200 originally disrupted by that March 11 earthquake. Officials from Toyota are saying that those remaining parts are readily available.

The recovery will allow Toyota to resume unrestricted production of any model in any variant by the start of October, previously the Japanese auto maker said that production will resume in November.

There have also been made plans to bring complete global output restoration forward to October, Executive Vice President Atsushi Niimi was quoted as saying by autonews.com. Toyota has scheduled to get an update from affected suppliers at the end of June, stated the aforementioned.

"I’m very much looking forward to that, but it’s not for certain, if we can pull it forward by one month, I think that would be a great accomplishment,” said Niimi.

Toyota’s production was fully restored in matter of volume and it is at pre-quake levels.

The output for Toyota RAV4 and Lexus RX crossovers ,will not return to normal until the autumn due to the fact that there are still lots of shortages of rollover-prevention sensors tailored for those models. The Japanese manufacturer will resume its normal delivery of most of its models by August and revive total global production by the end of July at a re-quake level.
