Remember the high-riding Auris in the last spyshots? Seems Toyota is preparing something a bit more than a slightly off-road-looking Auris, maybe a new model if you take a look at this concept car teased here.
Toyota was recently testing a slightly beefed-up Auris, which came with an improved ground clearance and independent rear suspension, making us think it’s going to be the Cross version. But then, this shady silhouette above made its appearance on the Internet.

Toyota says the car pictured above is the C-HR concept, which will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show next month, which will represent an “innovative vision for a compact crossover model”.

This means the camouflaged Auris spotted on track was only testing the underpinnings of the future compact crossover, which will be slotted bellow the RAV4 compact SUV.

Based on the teaser, showing a very sporty silhouette, we expect the new crossover will be something like a low-buck, smaller version of the Lexus NX. You can see some resemblance in their profile too, like the raked rear and sleek roof ending with an integrated spoiler.

There are some crazy LED lights there, but chances for them to go into production like that are slim. On the other hand, the hybrid powertrain will make its way in the car according to the automaker. The same one from the Auris or another one, that remains to be found out later.

The Paris Motor Show will open October 4th and it will also host the first Toyota FCV hydrogen fuel cell unveiling for Europe.
