Whenever trams, buses, trolley buses, cars, trucks, vans and motorbikes share the same road, accidents are bound to happen - this pretty much refers to every city in the world, but the idea is valid. Trams are especially dangerous as their drivers don’t have a particularly good view of the road, being perched very high and with few windows around.
In this video, the black Toyota SUV can be seen passing in front of the yellow, red and blue tram, only to be hit by a speeding bus, then smashed into the side of the tram, remaining pinned between the two. The accident is quite violent, but the bus does not hit the SUV’s passenger compartment, so we say nobody was injured.
The design of the intersection also has a part to play in the accident itself, forcing drivers to go over the tram lines, then onto a busy street where people seem to drive rather quickly - a set of traffic lights may solve the problem, though.
