Toyota Supra vs. EVs: Audi e-tron, Model 3 and Jaguar I-Pace

Alright. So far, we have seen the Tesla Model 3 Performance taken on a variety of sports cars or European EV rivals, and it won most of the time. But we've never seen the performance of the Audi e-tron SUV being put to the test. After all, Audi is known for making dull but brutally fast sports models.

So does that also apply to the e-tron SUV? Thankfully, Carwow was able to secure not only the first mass-production Audi EV, but also a few competent rivals, one of which is British. That's right. You thought we forgot about the Jaguar I-Pace? It's got a dual-motor setup that makes it perfect for the job.

Unfortunately, we already know it's way slower than a Tesla Model 3 Performance, which is what they have lined up on the runway. We call this the sports car killer after it took down things like the BMW M3. And just to make things interesting, the sports car of the moment is also here. We're talking about the BMW-powered and quite controversial Toyota Supra.

The I-Pace is rated at 400 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, which means it's pretty fast. The e-tron 55 quattro makes only 360 horsepower but for short periods can deliver 408 HP and 664 Nm of torque. But how does translate into performance? Well, during the drag race, the I-Pace stays ahead of e-tron and, surprisingly, also the Toyota Supra. It looks like everything comes down to power.

So it's dead-last place for the Supra, even though it's going up against heavy cars with four doors. From being seen as slow, EVs are now seen as having an unfair advantage, but it comes down to a lot of development money. But who won? Obviously, the Tesla Model 3 has the edge, being the lightest EV with the most power and the slipperiest body shape.
