Toyota Supra GT-R Looks Like a Supercar Killer

Toyota Supra GT-R Face Swap rendering 1 photo

As determined as the Toyota Supra modders are, it's difficult to believe anybody has fitted such a machine with the front end of the Nissan GT-R. Then again, if the rendering we have here ends up extremely popular, some eccentric aficionado out there might just do it. And while we hope that never happens, let's take a bit of time to zoom in on this matter.
Face swap renderings are a trend now, so the one we have here shouldn't come as a surprise, despite the fact that it does portray a controversial mix.

Unlike other digital pieces of the sort, this one only cover the front end, skipping elements such as the posterior of the wheels. Even so, we're talking about a Nissan that bet on the angular design card and a Toyota that came with rounded styling cues, so this mélange is quite something.

For the record, the image comes from Instagram label Project Owners Club, which normally introduces real-world builds that are off the charts.

Admittedly, the Mk IV generation of the Toyota Supra and the R34-generation Nissan Skyline GT-R did share an era, as the first was built between 1993 and 2002, while the latter was brought to the world from 1999 to 2002.

Both the 2ZJ-animated Supra and the RB26DETT-powered GT-R went on to become aftermarket heroes, with their reputation remaining solid to this day, even though the Toyota arguably has even more street credibility that the Nissan.

As for their future, the fact that the Mk V Supra isn't as impressive-looking as the FT-1 concept previewing it is just one of the aspects that see the Japanese sportscar splitting opinions, even though the rumored range-topper, which would borrow the upcoming BMW M3's 500+ hp twin-turbo straight-six might tip the balance towards showing the car some love.

Godzilla? The current R35 generation has been with us since 2007 and while its maker has made it clear the model has a future, no details have been released so far, with Nissan focusing on the also-long-in-the-tooth 370Z.
