The world is literally going crazy with the recent launch of the BMW 4 Series. It's like the car equivalent of a meme, and not in a good way.
We're sure that the new design language will eventually become normal. But while it still looks shockingly ugly for some, several rendering artists have tried to see what other cars might look like with the taller twin-kidney design.
Today, we got a Toyota Supra that's been face-swapped to a 4 Series. And it's not even the new Supra, the one that actually has a BMW engine and whatnot. No, this is the Mk4 Toyota Supra, the icon from the Fast and Furious franchise, though obviously not the way we know it.
So what do you guys think of the face swap? Obviously, that's not how a Supra is supposed to look, but thanks to the 2020 model, we've grown accustomed to their pointlessly large, fake air intakes, so the Bimmer nose feels right at home.
The Supra was never an understated car, and German trinkets at least help it look more expensive. But there's something innately broken about this face.
As The Sketch Monkey put it in a recent video, the problem is BMW trying to combine the new double-kidney with an older style for the side air intakes. They did a much better job with the i4.
Overall, even though it's not going to be as iconic as the Supra, the 4 Series ticks every box a sports coupe should. It's still rear-wheel-drive and packs some of the nicest turbocharged engines around.
The tip of the spear is the $60,000 M440i with, the first M Performance variant ever offered in a 4-Series model. It will get you to 62 mph (100 kph) in 4.7 seconds while seating four people, something the 2020 Supra does try to do.
