Toyota Starlet Running in the Sevens

The 60 Series Toyota Starlet wasn’t designed to be a sexy beast. Its flat body surfaces and sharp angles made it look like a VW Golf MK1 copy.

However, in USA, the closest match for the Starlet was the AMC Pacer, which I would have chosen in a blink of an eye if the Starlet was not this one in the video bellow.

Just from the start of the clip you reckon this is not your average Starlet as its whole front end has been modified to hold on a big radiator and a huge turbocharger. In fact, the whole body was stiffened up with a full rollcage and the rear end has been modified for a racing diff and huge tires.

The uploader said nothing about the engine, but by the sound of it, the car seems to have a highly modified version of its standard 1.2-liter engine. The setup makes it average 7.5 seconds on the quarter mile as you will see bellow.
