Toyota Revise Aero Package for Barcelona

As all teams are preparing plenty of new aerodynamic features for their European debut next weekend, Toyota are certainly no exception from that rule. Having previously tested at Barcelona during the off-season, the Cologne based team are heading towards the Catalonian circuit full of hopes and dreams.

Apart from the natural good progression of their results this season – podium finishes in Australia and Malaysia, then an all-Toyota first row on the Bahrain grid – the team are also to debut some new components in Spain, aimed to boost the TF109's performances in the season. As confirmed by team president John Howett, Barcelona will mark the beginning of a strong development programme for the ongoing season, which will see upgrades to the two Toyotas on a race to race basis.

Our car has been one of the very fastest so far this season and we have some aerodynamic upgrades in Spain which will bring more performance. We have an aggressive development programme for the whole season so I'm confident we will be in good shape,” said Howett in a race preview for this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix.

German driver Timo Glock also announced he will be challenging for a top position in the Spanish event, but reckoned everyone should keep their feet on the ground ahead of the upcoming weekend. Toyota's poor run in Bahrain (race) and the fact that all other teams will be improving as well ahead of their European debut are two of the things one should keep in mind when hurrying to list his team as favorites for this weekend.

I have scored points in all the races so far - only two other drivers have done that - and I certainly expect to continue that run this weekend. We have an upgrade to the car this weekend so hopefully that can bring something extra but we will have to wait and see how the other teams develop as well,” argued Glock.
