The low-cost sedan and hatchback Toyota Etios was specially developed for the Indian market, but the model needs to expand in order to survive. Brazil is another good market for it but for now, it failed to grow under the consumers’ skin there.
The Toyota Etios was introduced in Brazil in mid-2012 as entry level vehicles, but at the same time, Hyundai and Chevrolet brought specially designed Brazilian-exclusive models, which put the Etios on the bottom of the choice list.

With the HB20 and the Onix models reaching the top 10 best sellers in the area, the Etios barely made it into the top 30 this year, so Toyota is now planning a complete upgrade of the model, with Noticias Automotivas reporting that a late-2015 new model is due to arrive.

There are not too many details available, but the new Etios will have a more attractive exterior styling and a reorganized interior while still trying to retain a low cost production.
