Recently tested by Slash Gear, the RAV4 EV proved to be a good combination for a planet-hugger SUV. Disregarding the not-so-exciting exterior, the custom-designed interior will make you feel this car is more than just a RAV4. The instrument panel was redesigned to offer electric range, battery level and more informations, in a stylish minimalistic design. The central stack was also redesigned, having two separate zones - one for the touchscreen infotainment system and the second dedicated for the climate control, which also uses touch sensitive buttons.

Power is more than enough to screech the front tires in Sport mode, while offering a top speed of 100 mph (160 km/h). Real range is estimated at around 80 miles (128 km) while the recharging time can sadly keep you off the road for about 18 hours on a standard 120V outlet. So, you should consider getting a high voltage charger if you fancy the RAV4 EV, as it will drop the charging time to about 5 hours.
