The love affair between Toyota and Tesla resulted in the world’s first all-electric compact SUV, the RAV4 EV, which is already on sale in California.
While Toyota came by with a revamped and more aerodynamical RAV4 body, Tesla added its excellent electric powertrain and 22 months later, the RAV4 EV was created.
The Toyota RAV4 EV reached Autocar recently and after a test drive, the guys found it ”well sorted and robust,” having plenty of loadspace despite the electric powertrain and pretty much city-oriented due to its “Sport” button.
And they are right. With a claimed range of 103 miles (165 km), in “Normal” mode of course, we also don’t think someone would take it on a trip to grandpa’s ranch too often.
