After the recall for faulty transistors, Toyota calls 780,584 vehicles back to sort out a suspension issue.
The problem may affect Toyota RAV4 vehicles made between 2006-2011 and Lexus HS 250h made from October 2005 to September 2010. The rear suspension arm could move around if the nuts are not reinstalled properly, resulting in rust forming on the threaded portion of the arm. This can cause it to separate and lead to an abrupt change in the vehicle’s alignment.

The solution will be that specialized Toyota mechanics to inspect the tie rods and replace them if the alignment threads are corroded. Then, all the rear tie rods will be coated in epoxy to prevent future corrosion.

Due to limited parts at the dealerships, the recall will take place in phases from September 2013 to February next year. Owners will be properly notified when parts are available in their area.
