Toyota Racing Making Debut at the Circuit of the Americas Endurance Race

After the recent crash at the Six Hours of Sao Paulo that prematurely ended Toyota’s performance in the Brazilian stage, the Japanese automaker plans to bounce back into the action in the fifth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship that will take place next weekend in Texas.

“We had an extremely disappointing race in Brazil when we thought we had a genuine chance of victory so I am determined to have a better weekend in Austin.” said Toyota Racing driver Anthony Davidson. “Our updated TS030 HYBRID felt really good at Interlagos which gives us confidence for this weekend. The Circuit of the Americas is a great track and a new one for everyone in LMP1. This will be the first time I have driven there so I can’t wait. It’s a busy week for us with the collective test on Thursday, but this is a good opportunity to optimise set-ups before practice begins. Hopefully we can hit the ground running.”

The six-hour race will be held on the recently-constructed Circuit of the Americas (COTA) located near Austin, Texas. It features significant elevation changes and twenty corners spanned across 5.515 km (3.427 miles). The track will also feature 4 recovery zones, which will allow the TS030 Hybrid racecar to recharge its super capacitors and use the 300hp boost after each zone.
