Toyota’s revamped endurance prototype looks stronger than ever, Audi has new laser lights to blind slower drivers and Porsche is back after 16 years to prove again he is the LMP1 boss. With all these, the 2014 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans promises to be more exciting than a go in the Top Thrill Dragster rollercoaster.
Those NFS players might think driving at Le Mans has to be a piece of cake, but in fact the Circuit de la Sarthe on which the whole thing happens is one of the longest and most intimidating tracks in the world.

The Circuit de la Sarthe is a semi-permanent race course, using both a dedicated racing circuit and local public roads, making up for a huge 13.6 km (8.47 miles) total length.

Race drivers spend around 80 percent of the time on full throttle at Le Mans, especially on the Mulsanne Straight, which is also pinched in two places by chicanes. So it’s not just pedal to the metal there, and you can easily hit the barriers if you miss the braking point at over 300 km/h (186 mph), especially at night when most of the track is pitch black.

Of course, those chicanes are just part of the equation and that’s why we have Toyota TS040 Hybrid driver Nicolas Lapierre here to tell us more about the way they will tackle the race this weekend. Check the video bellow and listen carefully what tremendous speeds they cut through corners at.

Think you can manage it? Why don’t you start Gran Turismo and do what Nicolas says here for at least 4 hours without crashing.
