Toyota Prius PHV (Prime) Looks Awesome With GR Sport Body Kit

Like it or not, hybrids are going to be everywhere, so you can't judge if people want body kits and big wheels, especially if it's the best class-leading Prius PHV model.

Tests have shown that while it might not have the same EV range as some of its rivals, the Prius PHV is better at managing its fuel use. But the Japanese aren't content with that and have also launched a GR Sport body kit.

It's part of a wide range of models that we frankly find really cool. They have the top-end GRMN sports models like the Yaris hot hatch, the mid-grade GR, and these GR Sport body kits. Toyota deserves more credit for its creative side.

But let's talk about what the GR Sport package changes. It's got an all-new bumper with much larger LED accents and a bulky black grille that kinda' looks like it belongs on a Celica.

The five people at GRMN also developed side skirts for this car, as well as adding larger wheels. The white paint is typical to all these tuned Toyota, and you can see a lot of them in the background.

The rear bumper looks a lot like the front one, boasting a lot of extra lights. There's also a diffuser painted in black and with a F1-style light in the middle.

The top S "Navi Package" trim is the basis for this project. On top of that, they added special seats with thicker side bolsters, fresh leather and GR logos. The rear seats and armrests get the same white contrasting stitching. Less obvious are the aluminum pedal set and subtly revised tachometer. In fact, we'd call that redundant, but the smaller steering wheel is very GT86-like.

Nothing happens under the hood - it's just a standard THS II plug-in hybrid system with a 2ZR-FXE 1.8-liter engine and a big electric motor.
