For those who want to stand out from the crowd of silver and white Toyota Prius models, the Japanese manufacturer is now offering a more style-oriented version of the car, aptly named the ‘Persona Series’. It gets a special ‘Black Cherry Pearl’ paint finish, new 17-inch alloys, as well as special badging, so that everybody knows that this is no run-of-the-mill Prius - it’s special.
Inside, the ‘special’ treatment continues, with dark-grey coloured faux-leather upholstery, which gets nice contrasting red stitching, matching the exterior color of the car - the same material is also found on the steering wheel, giving the interior a more consistent upmarket feel.
The mechanical side remains untouched, however the price does not - the Prius Persona Series costs $27,130, which represents a $1,365 premium over the ‘Prius Three’ trim on which its based. This particular car will undoubtedly find its fans - those who used to buy a Prius, so that they could drive a hybrid and be different. Now, everybody in the US drives a hybrid of some sort, and it is increasingly difficult to stand out - Toyota are well-aware of this fact, and it alone probably spawned this particular version.
