After being in production for around 30 years, Toyota’s 70 Series work horse might get a revamped version soon.
Coming in three versions - ute, wagon and TroopCarrier - the 70 Series remained virtually unchanged since 1984, its latest updates being performed in 2012 finally adding anti-lock breaks.

Speaking with Motoring.com.au, Toyota chief engineer Sadayoshi Koyari said that the company is planning a replacement for the old 70 Series, which is mostly sold in Australia, Middle East and South Africa.

Moreover, Toyota Australia executive director of sales and marketing Tony Cramb confirmed by declaring that “a new 70 Series is seriously under consideration right now,” but he didn’t mentioned when the new model will arrive.

Last year, Toyota sold around 8,000 70 Series units in Australia, while this year, the number is at around 6,700 until this month.
