Toyota is further upgrading its manufacturing plants in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, so that its vehicles can proudly wear their ecological tags from the first molded panel to their last kilometer driven.
Latest reports tell that Kyocera Solar Inc. has recently completed installing its solar modules on a new photovoltaic carport at Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Baja California (TMMBC).

The carport canopy covers a large part of the TMMBC’s parking lot and it will harness the sun’s energy in order to enhance Toyota’s eco-friendliness by reducing carbon emissions with more than 28 tons per year.

"Toyota's commitment to the environment is a way of life, both within our operations and in our products -- as exemplified by award-winning vehicles like the Toyota Tundra pickup and Prius hybrid sedan," said Joe Da Rosa, president of TMMBC. "We are pleased to partner with Kyocera to install this solar carport as a visible reminder of our efforts to create a healthier environment for future generations."
