Toyota has announced the introduction of a limited edition color for the Crown sedan in Japan. Nothing spectacular you might think, since BMW and Mercedes-Benz are doing the same a couple time a year, but what if we tell you that the Crown will become available to order in pink?
Well, the color is actually called electric-fuchsia, but it’s still pink all the way to us. Toyota will be taking orders for the pink Crown only from September 1 through September 30 and the company hopes to attract young customers, rather than the usual over-50-year-old buyers, with it. The flagship will be available only on two versions of the Athlete G trim level - gasoline V6 and hybrid.
The electric-fuchsia Crown was actually introduced back in November when the redesigned version of the sedan was launched. Pricing for the pink option has yet to be revealed, but the V6 Crown starts at JPY5,130,000 ($51,400 at current exchange rates).
