Toyota Launches New AYGO Go!

Toyota announced the UK market release of a high-spec version AYGO city car. The model is called the AYGO Go! and is sold with a clear focus on its multi-media features. This latest version of Toyota’s city car also comes equipped with a detachable TomTom satellite navigation system with touch-screen controls and a voice recognition function.

We’re not talking about a simple navigation system that only guides you to where you want to go. The AYGO Go! will also inform you about what the weather will be like when you arrive and highlight points of interest along your journey.

Thanks to its Bluetooth and USB connectivity, the sat-nav can also connect to iPods and other digital music players. The car’s audio system also provides it’s own entertainment, as it comes with a CD/MP3 disc player.

We’ve talked quite a bit about what makes life a bit easier behind the wheel of the AYGO Go!, but the car also comes with added style and presence. Exterior features include newly-designed alloy wheels and dark-tinted rear privacy glass. The steering wheel also gets a makeover of leather trim. Two exterior colors are available as optional extras, Chilli Red and Cirrus White, both with metallic Carbon Quartz. Air conditioning can also be specified, together with the dedicated AYGO Style and Protection option packs.

AYGO Go! is available in both three and five-door configurations and is powered along by a frugal 1.0-liter three cylinder VVT-i petrol engine with manual or MultiMode transmission. Prices in the UK start from £9,750 (€11,650) for the 3-door model, while a fully equipped 5-door with air-con costs £11,115 (€13,282).
