Looking both ways when crossing a street is a rule which should not apply only to pedestrians. The traffic lights may be green, but you never know who might choose to ignore that, at any time. This Russian driver, clearly illustrates the point, as his white Toyota Land cruiser gets into trouble with... a bus.
The Land Cruiser driver waits until the lights are green, then proceeds ahead, not knowing that a bus which is going much too quickly is on its way. Again, the bus driver does not seem to brake until it is far too late, and the Japanese SUV is simply obliterated by the crash.
Now, while it may not have been the SUV driver’s fault, looking in all directions and always being aware of what’s around you is always important. The crash may have been avoided, if the driver had spotted the bus, which was probably very hard to miss, given that it is quite big and it does stand out, especially when speeding.
