Toyota Kirloskar September Sales Up 10 Percent

Indian subsidiary Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has just announced a 10.52 percent sales increase in September 2013, compared to the same period of last year.
The automaker sold 14,291 Toyota vehicles in September last year, while this year, managed to deliver 15,795 units.

"The market continues to be sluggish. We hope that the market will improve with the upcoming festive season." said Toyota Kirloskar Motor managing director Sandeep Singh.

TKM was established in India in 1997 and currently has a 432 acres (1.75 square km) in Bidadi, Karnataka, with a capacity of 80,000 vehicles per year. Another plant is located near Bangalore, with a slightly lower capacity of 70,000 units per year.
