Toyota Racing has prepared two upgraded TS030 HYBRID racecars for the event, serving the two crews: #7 with Alex Wurz, Nicolas Lapierre, Nazuki Naakajima and #8 formed by Anthony Davidson, Sebastien Buemi and Stephane Serrazin.

Several test sessions, including endurance ones, summing over 2000 km proved the updated vehicle’s performances and reliability, making the two worthy for the renowned event.

The TS030 HYBRID is powered by a 3.4-liter V8 engine aided by an electric motor, which uses the regenerative braking stored electricity to deliver up to 300 bhp to the petrol engine. The cars also have revised aerodynamics and brake systems, to make sure they wont have problems like last year.

In 2012, the TS030 driven by Anthony Davidson crashed, after colliding with Piergiuseppe Perazzini’s Ferrari, while its sister racecar retired several hours later after an engine failure.
