Toyota is pushing the pedal towards making the air cleaner in the US, or at least towards increasing the sales of their cleaner car models. Either way, celebrities in Hollywood clearly have a message to spread, and the Japanese carmaker has been using this positive energy to promote their hybrid Prius for 15 years. It’s only natural they chose the same place to debut the all-new 2016 model.
It’s this Saturday, October 24, that Toyota and Lexus celebrate 15 years of partnership with Environmental Media Association (EMA) and the 15th anniversary of the Prius. The company will bring its eco-conscious hybrid at the 25th Annual Environmental Media Awards at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, where the all-new model will greet A-list actors and movie personalities.

For those who haven’t heard of it, we’ll mention the award ceremony honors film and television productions that communicate environmental messages in creative and meaningful ways. This year’s honorees include Don Henley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristin Davis, Van Jones, Zem and James Joaquin, and a special tribute to 25 years of Simpson’s series excellence in environmental messaging.

“The entertainment industry elevated Prius to a cultural icon and made hybrids cool,” said Bob Carter, senior vice president, automotive operations, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “Toyota and Lexus are proud to support and celebrate Hollywood’s positive influence and impact on the planet.”

Such a positive vibration, it almost makes us want to listen to Bob Marley’s old-timers, but it’s not that Friday yet.

Getting back to the newly redesigned 2016 Prius, Toyota claims it boasts striking design, smarter technology, and impressive MPG in a vehicle that is more fun to drive than ever. But worry not you Prius non-believers, Lexus will also be showcasing two vehicles for the evening. The NX 300h AWD and the CT F Sport Special Edition will also be present. And if all these haven’t tackled your interest, there’s one more ace in the hand the Japanese have prepared.

The recently released Toyota Mirai will also be sitting next to the green carpet. Let’s face it, people, the hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicle made quite the appearance in California the other day, with Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox on board.
