The disco ball has always been an object of fascination, as it is associated with heavy partying and dancing silhouettes.

Thanks to its status, the item has been used in many marketing campaigns, bringing an extra topping of “cool” and “fun”. Contemporary marketing campaigns have complex pathways and combine multiple elements, but the classic principles can still be used. This means that the disco ball is not out of fashion, it just has to come is a special... shape.

And this is exactly what Toyota is demonstrating with its latest publicity stunt. The company’s German division has created a giant disco ball on wheels, in the form of the iQ DISCO.

The project is an image-enhancer that will tour Toyota showrooms throughout the country. The vehicle’s tour will start with dealerships located in Cologne.

The ultra-compact city car now wears a disco-ball-inspired sparkling foil. The result is so eye-catching that it doesn’t even need special lights to impress. However, we couldn’t help imagine the vehicle being flooded with laser beams.

The company has decided that this incarnation of the iQ should really be a special one, so the vehicle was fitted with scissor doors and was gifted with a set of lightweight alloy rims that use a multi-spoke design and come in a 18-inch size.

As we are talking about partying, the iQ Disco comes with a DJ sound system that uses two Numark NDX 800 player units, a two-channel mixer, a 15-inch bass-reflex subwoofer and others. The system offers up to 1,000 watts and has a peak sound pressure of 130 dB.
