Toyota Motor Corp has recently announced it will invest about $181 million (YEN18 billion) to expand production capacity at its Russian subsidiary located in St. Petersburg.
The manufacturing plant currently produces the Toyota Camry model. The investment will prepare the facility to start making the RAV4 in 2016, expanding the actual 50,000 vehicles capacity to around 100,000 units.
Toyota Motors Manufacturing Russia (TMMR) was constructed in 2005, launching its Camry production on December 21, 2007.
