Toyota today announced that its International Multipurpose Vehicle (IMV) platform, which is used for the Toyota Hilux/Vigo pick-up, Innova minivan and Fortuner SUV, has reached the five million units sales milestone.
The IMV series is currently being produced in 11 sites, including four countries being designated as global IMV supply locations: Thailand, Indonesia, Argentina and South Africa. In addition to that, importnat components, like diesel engine manufactured in Thailand, petrol engines built in Indonesia and transmissions produced in the Philippines and India are exported to IMV producing countries.

The Toyota Hilux offered on the European market comes from both Toyota South Africa Motors and Toyota Motor Thailand, with its sales hitting 28,888 units last year, which brought it the title of the best selling pick-up in Europe for the third year in a row.
