Toyota Hilux "Breadvan" Covers Its Bed with a Daytona Wing

If you've experienced the giggles when coming across the title above, it means you're familiar with the Ferrari 250 GT SWB Breadvan, the racecar that saw Count Giovanni Volpi trying to unsettle Ferrari at Le Mans a few years before Ford actulally managed to do so. Well, like the said contraption, this Toyota Hilux is bound to generate quite a stir, even though we're talking about a mere rendering.

We're looking at a second-generation Hilux, with the pixels we have here helping the machine look more like its RokeHi (think: Rocket Hilux) nickname.

Perhaps the most striking element of the machine is its bed cover, which does resemble the upper rear bodywork of the Breadvan (yes, this machine might have humble beginnings than the said racecar, but it also keeps the engine up front, while only packing two doors).

And that cover is linked to a rear wing that reminds one of the original Dodge Charger Daytona. Way below the said aero element, we find a lighting signature borrowed from the (you guessed it) Tesla Cybertruck, while the massive diffuser and the rectangular exhaust tips are also worthy of attention.

Moving towards the front end, we find uber-massive fenders filled by deep-dish wheels, while the expected air suspension means the machine nearly touches the road.

Up front, we find a mix of heavy aero work and simple lines that follow the factory design, albeit with a part of the fascia coming in carbon form. As for the hood, this now sits above a V8. And, because Yasid Oozeear, the digital artist behind this Hilux, loves to keep purists on their toes, the motor uses both individual throttle bodies (think: natural aspiration) and a pair of turbos.

And since I mentioned purists, these gear heads have a legitimate reason to worry about this rendering: the pixel work only comes to reflect real Toyota Hilux builds of the sort, as you'll notice in the Instagram posts below the one showcasing the rendering.
