Toyota has finally put a price on the car that will bring the fun back to the brand. Getting straight to the point, the GT 86 sports coupe will cost £24,995 on the road in Britain. The manufacturer only wanted to remind us about the RWD coupe that’s going to sell for hothatch money, so full pricing and options will announced later.
The GT 86 was designed in collaboration with Subaru, earning it the name Toyobaru. The GT 86 name is a tribute to a legendary model from the past the 1986 Toyota Corolla GT.
The nimble little car is powered by a 2.0-liter engine that makes 197bhp (147 kW or 200 hp), which comes mated to either the standard six-speed manual or an automatic.
Toyota will give you a choice of better stereo, bigger wheels or a wing on the back, but it’s likely to be structured in one or two big packages. UK arrival of the GT 86 is set for this summer.
