Rumor had it for some time that Toyota engineers have been secretly working on a sedan GT 86. The boss found out and after a while he probably liked the idea and the word of the new sedan spread around the media.
But with the GT 86 Open convertible being postponed indefinitely, it’s pretty hard to believe a sedan version could come too soon, probably due to the same reasons - fabrication costs and handling spoiling.
However, Dubai International Motor Show posted something interesting on their official Facebook page. They are saying that Toyota UAE will make its presence felt at the event, bringing an extensive lineup, including the 2014 Corolla model and the FT 86 Open one.
Moreover, their photo attached to the message is this one up above. A rendering of how the GT 86 sedan might look like. The pic appears to be new and may hint that the prototype will be showcased at Dubai for the first time. So stay tuned for updates.
