Despite haters’ opinions that the Toyota GT 86 is underpowered, here is another review that disagrees with the idea that you can’t have fun with a 200 hp coupe.
The GT 86 was built to offer drivers the oldschool driving fun at a low cost. So, the venomous-looking coupe offers exactly what you need for “low budget” fun: a 2-liter gasoline engine up front, manual gearbox in the middle and a mechanical differential at the rear. There is however an automatic gearbox with paddle shifters, but that is kind of spoiling the whole “classic driving” concept.
The guys over at Cnet have recently tested the GT 86 and they think it is just as good as it looks like. So go here and read their review.
