Toyota GT 86 Getting Chuhatsu Plus High Suspension, Because Japan

Most of the guys we saw owning a Toyota GT 86, or Scion FR-S, have lowered them a bit and eventually added a Rocket Bunny body kit to make their rides look really vicious. Guess that in Japan not everyone is obsessed with low suspensions, despite being the place from where those crazy VIP stanced rides came from.

Nope, there are people there that will actually raise the 86’s suspension a bit, to probably go over speed bumps and climb on the curb much easier. Or maybe they like to take the Toybaru on an off-roading session.

How do we know that? It’s true we haven’t found a raised one yet, but there’s this Chuhatsu parts supplier that has raising springs on the list.

Their new Plus Multi Road kit comes with four springs that will raise the 86 between 15 to 20 mm from its original ride-height. And they also offer rubber tampons to limit the wheel travel so you won’t smash the cars underbelly against a bumpy road.

The kit will be released this September at a price of ¥42,000 ($404/€307) excluding taxes. A bargain if you really wish to fly over speed bumps in your new-age Hachiroku. Oh, and these raising kits will also be available for the Toyota Prius V and the Corolla Fielder Hybrid for a similar price.
